The Jobs of Final Fantasy XIV

Update: This article is just a brief primer on jobs. Since the time of writing, I’ve found this guide. I recommend you head over and get yourself a copy as well. Not only does it have an insanely detailed chapter on the jobs, but an absolutely brilliant leveling guide as well (see my review). I so wish I had gotten that when I first bought the game – it would have saved me a lot of time (which could have been used to improve the design of this blog instead :))

Final Fantasy games have been a huge hit with gamers all around the world for many years now. Starting way back in the early days of gaming, role playing games were some of the first in-depth and complex games to hit the market. Typically consisting of heavy story elements and character progression to level up, role playing games have kept their popularity over the decades and remain widely popular today. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is a new RPG in the Final Fantasy series.

The game features a ton of content for players to participate in including jobs. Jobs allow players to specialize in a certain style of play that comes into affect when playing with large groups. Players can choose a job once they have mastered their main role as a class with different ways of FFXIV Gil farming. Below is the list of jobs in Final Fantasy XIV and a short description of what each job is. This should help any player pick the perfect job for their character!

Bard – The Bard provides buffs to the party through song while shooting enemies from a distance with bow and arrow.
Black Mage – Black Mages are kings of destruction magic and dealing damage to multiple enemies at once. They are also able to ensnare enemies with spells.
Dragoon – Dragoons utilize their enhanced attack power to deal extra damage from the skies during attacks.
Monk – The Monk uses elemental skills to attack enemies as well as to protect friendly party members. The Monk is also a skilled Pugilist.
Paladin – Paladins act as the party’s tank. He/she utilizes a shield to provide heavy defense to the entire party and keep enemies at bey.
Scholar – The Scholar’s magic is very broad in skill but not quite as powerful as either Mage class. What the Scholar lacks in power he/she makes up for in variety.
Summoner – Summoners summon magical creatures to help fight with a defend the party.
Warrior – Warriors are another tank class whose main role is to attract multiple enemies while teammates deal damage.
White Mage – White Mages are great healers and a necessity to any party.

Overall Final Fantasy XIV has a lot of great and interesting classes to choose from. There is something for everyone in the party to pick, and each class will help to ensure the party succeeds!
